Dialysis Technician

Dialysis Technician assists in providing hemodialysis to patients by preparing dialysis machines, cannulating patient access and initiating/discontinuing treatments.

Schedule: Full-time, 72 hours per pay period; 3:00am - 3:30pm, Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Weekend Requirement: No weekends. May be asked to pick up extra shift if needed. Holiday Requirement: Rotation required. On-the-job training offered.

Position Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patient access before cannulation each treatment.
• Setting up and tearing down of dialysis machines in safe and timely manner.
• Documents necessary data for each patient every treatment.
• Monitor patients closely during treatment for adverse reactions and reports to nurse accordingly.
• Obtain lab specimens as ordered.
• Attends daily huddles and monthly meetings as scheduled.
• Perform other nursing duties as requested.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CCHT certification preferred or must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
• BLS certification required.
• 6 months of related work experience preferred.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Intermediate to expert proficiency with computers is required.
• Clinical skills: cannulate, draw labs, calculate fluid removal and documentation.
• Responsible for cleaning, quality control and maintenance of dialysis equipment.
• Self-starter with excellent customer service, interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
