Job Description Works under the supervision of the Cardiology Supervisor/Director. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the department. Performs routine clerical functions not limited to scheduling, patient registration, answering telephones, data collection, or word processing. Assists with the efficient flow of patients through departments while focusing on the delivery of quality care. Responsibilities: Respond to SharePoint requests within 15 minutes. Schedule and reschedule inpatient/outpatient procedures ensuring physician availability. Assist Respiratory and Sleep Medicine with scheduling. Confirm appointments and prepare and distribute the department daily schedule up to 48 hours in advance to staff. Obtain and confirm authorizations and written orders are accurate with appropriate physician signature and request updates as needed. Answer the telephone in a professional manner and direct calls to the appropriate person. Welcome patients upon arrival using AIDETS. Pre-register patients in Meditech, obtaining accurate demographic information, personal documentation, a valid written order, and scan into or update the EMR accordingly. Ensure patient procedures are on appropriate schedules. Perform e‑sign, ensure COA and Facesheet transfers to Notes. Provide patients with general procedure information/instructions, refer to clinical staff appropriately. If appropriate, provide clinical staff with feedback regarding the patient's ability to ambulate. Maintain CWS/Outlook schedules and calendars by scheduling vendors and anesthesia (Cath Lab), monthly staff meetings or peer reviews, and other meetings or events pertinent to department flow. Utilize PACS to transmit and print or burn CD’s of imaging studies. Prepare Peripheral and Electrophysiology reports and hemodynamic logs and reports for third‑party coding (MAMI). Assist with data collection and organization in quality improvement processes. Assist in the review of Cath Lab hemodynamic procedure logs for equipment and billing accuracy. Assist with patient flow to include ambulation of patients or assistance with undressing. Assist with efficient use of resources by helping clean rooms or with patient prep. Assist with verifying and expediting charges and billing corrections within three business days for the Cardiac Wellness Center and CDOC. Maintain the department competency grid, record procedure statistics, and submit Medicare month‑end reports (Cardiac Wellness Center). Provide support to parallel departments as needed (Cardiology/Wellness/CDOC/Cath Lab/Sleep Center/RT). Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Minimum high school diploma or GED required. Licensure: Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards. New hires and transfers have up to six months from the date of hire/transfer to obtain BLS/Healthcare Provider certification and must remain continually current. Experience: One (1) to two (2) years of recent clerical/scheduling experience preferred. Medical terminology strongly preferred. Compensation and Benefits Hourly rate: $31.15 – $37.87, target for new hire salaries. Shift differentials: Evening – $2.00; Night – $4.00 per hour. Union: NUHW. Work shift: Variable. FTE: 1.0.
