General Manager

We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented General Manager to lead the operations of a multi-station radio and digital media organization in the Midwest. This leadership role is responsible for setting strategic direction, driving operational excellence, growing revenue, and achieving financial objectives while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

The General Manager will provide leadership across sales, programming, news, and operations, ensuring the organization delivers compelling local content, strengthens audience engagement, and serves its communities with excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and support teams across sales, programming, news, and operations.
• Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and accountability across all departments.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop employees to support individual and organizational success.

Operational Leadership

• Oversee the daily operations of multiple radio stations and digital media platforms.
• Ensure efficient execution of programming, sales, and administrative functions.
• Maintain compliance with FCC regulations, broadcasting standards, and company policies.

Financial Management

• Develop and manage operating budgets.
• Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
• Identify opportunities to grow revenue through advertising, sponsorships, events, and digital offerings.

Sales & Business Development

• Lead and support the sales team in achieving revenue objectives.
• Develop innovative sales and marketing strategies to attract new business and strengthen existing client relationships.
• Build strategic partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and community stakeholders.

Community Engagement

• Represent the organization at community events and industry functions.
• Build and maintain relationships with business leaders, community partners, and key stakeholders.
• Promote the organization’s brands through public engagement and outreach.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success leading teams and developing future leaders.
• Proven ability to meet or exceed financial and budgetary goals.
• Experience hiring, coaching, and motivating successful sales teams.
• Media sales management experience is preferred.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Detail-oriented, goal-driven, and self-motivated.
