Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Huntsville, Alabama

Experience Required: 7-10 years (minimum 6+ years mandatory)

Must-Have Skills

Key Responsibilities

Minimum 7 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
Understand and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) from Schwarze Project/Product Managers
Evaluate design changes and assess impact on related systems and sub-systems
Perform CAD design modifications and 2D drawing updates
Prepare Change Notice packages using PLM tools (Vault)
Ensure compliance with Schwarze engineering processes and ISO standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve and prioritize ECR issues efficiently

Knowledge & Critical Skills

Strong understanding of product design methodologies including DFM/DFA, DFMEA, system-level design, risk mitigation, COGS, and product safety
Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and fluid power systems
Working knowledge of driveline and drivetrain systems
Solid understanding of stress analysis (classical & FEA) , bolted joints, welded structures, fatigue analysis, bending moments, and shear force analysis
High level of accountability and ownership
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in SolidWorks, MS Word, Excel, Outlook , and related tools
