AI Engineer

Job Description

This role is responsible for securing and governing AI systems throughout their lifecycle, from development through production. On a day-to-day basis, they implement and manage AI security posture controls across model and inference environments, proactively identifying vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and emerging risks while partnering with engineering teams to drive remediation efforts. They design and execute model validation frameworks to evaluate AI applications for robustness, data leakage, and unintended behavior, while building and maintaining inference-layer guardrails such as input/output filtering, access controls, and rate limiting for GenAI and agentic solutions. The role also focuses on establishing and enforcing data protection standards for PHI, PII, and sensitive information, as well as implementing strong identity and access management practices for AI systems. Working closely with Cloud Security teams, they develop security guardrails for AI workloads in AWS and Azure, automate testing and security controls through Python-based tooling integrated into CI/CD pipelines, and create secure architecture guidance for development teams. Additionally, they research and evaluate emerging AI security technologies aligned with frameworks such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, while maturing monitoring capabilities and transitioning operationalized security processes to Security Operations teams.

Skills and Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Cyber Security, AI/ML, or security engineering in a large enterprise setting.

• Working knowledge of IAM and data security/privacy controls (PHI/PII, encryption).

• Applied understanding of the NIST AI RMF and related AI security frameworks.

• Hands on experience with Model validation, security tooling and automation

• Strong scripting and automation skills (Python) for security tooling, evaluation harnesses, and automated testing of AI systems.

• Hands on experience validating AI/ML models and securing the inference layer.
