Underwriter IV- Tax Credit

Position Overview Responsible for preparing and analyzing credit offerings, managing risk, and guiding the underwriting team on complex transactions at PNC. Job Description Works independently with little or no oversight. Exercises exception and elevated approval authority. Prepares offerings for all types of transactions and manages portfolio assignments. Interacts with internal and external customers and provides recommendations for credit structuring. Serves as subject‑matter expert for selected asset classes and coaches the underwriting team. Uses independent judgment to identify risks and mitigants and prepares risk ratings and scorecards. Performs ongoing credit risk management for assigned portfolio, where appropriate. Coaches and reviews the work of other underwriters, stepping in as manager when required. Contacts customers to gather and clarify information, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Identifies and confirms all external regulatory requirements and ensures adherence to internal procedures. Recommends credit decisions or makes credit decisions directly, as appropriate. Applies knowledge of IRS Code Section 42 and 47, equity structures, market research, and third‑party guidelines. Qualifications College or university degree (or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience). Minimum 5+ years in industry‑relevant experience. Proficiency in credit analysis, risk assessment, decision making, and financial analysis. Experience with credit structuring and scoring, risk ratings, and portfolio management. Strong knowledge of underwriting, regulation, and market research. Effective coaching and training skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. Full‑time literacy in Excel and Microsoft Office tools. Pay Transparency Base salary range: $65,000.00 - $179,400.00, variable with incentive eligibility based on company, business, and individual performance.
