Senior Tax Accountant
Navesink Tax & Advisory LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing team in Neptune, New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable tax professional who enjoys working directly with clients and wants to become an important part of a collaborative, client-focused accounting firm.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and review complex individual, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, trust, and nonprofit tax returns
Review financial statements and supporting documentation for accuracy
Conduct tax research and assist with tax-planning strategies
Identify tax-saving opportunities and communicate recommendations to clients
Respond to IRS and state tax notices
Manage multiple client assignments and deadlines during tax season
Communicate professionally with clients regarding tax questions and missing information
Provide guidance and support to junior accountants and administrative team members
Maintain accurate client records and workpapers
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of three to five years of recent public-accounting tax experience
Strong experience preparing individual and business tax returns
CPA or EA designation preferred; CPA candidates will also be considered
Experience with UltraTax CS is strongly preferred
Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
Strong tax research, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines
High level of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail
