Manufacturing Engineer, Welder, Tabless

What To Expect Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to commission, troubleshoot and ramp automation equipment. The engineer will also refine existing processes, with additional opportunities for new process development as needs arise. This role is with the Cell Manufacturing Engeering, Tabless – “Welder” team. This engineer will lead the early lifecyle of complex, fully automated, and hi-volume manufacturing equipment: from power-on to validation, and will spend a significant portion of his/her time on the production floor. The scope of equipment and processes include laser welding, hi-speed pick and place, computer vision, press-fit and precision assembly, etc. Other responsibilities would include running trials/DoEs, planning projects, developing specifications, writing procedures, interfacing with vendor, etc. The engineer will work closely and cross-coordinate with Tesla’s internal Production Engineering, Maintenance, Quality Engineering and NPI teams. This role is located at Gigafactory Texas (GFTX) in Austin, TX.
