Full-TimeThe Warehouse Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment. This position focuses on warehouse housekeeping duties to support safe and efficient operations by removing cardboard and trash, sweeping floors, collecting shrink wrap, and keeping warehouse work areas free of debris.Sweep warehouse floors and keep aisles, staging areas, and workspaces clean and free of debris.Collect and dispose of cardboard, shrink wrap, trash, and other warehouse waste throughout the shift.Break down cardboard for recycling and transport waste to designated disposal areas.Cut and remove shrink wrap from pallets and work areas as needed.Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the warehouse.Clean spills promptly and safely to prevent accidents.Operate floor sweepers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment as assigned.Assist with general warehouse housekeeping projects and periodic deep-cleaning assignments.Maintain cleaning equipment and notify management when repairs or replacements are needed.Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with company policies and OSHA guidelines.Follow all company safety procedures and immediately report hazards or maintenance concerns.Support warehouse operations by maintaining clean aisles, dock areas, and workstations to promote safety and efficiency.Perform other duties as assigned.Competencies:Consistently follows safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.Properly handles cleaning chemicals, equipment, and waste materials.Identifies and reports workplace hazards promptly.Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes assigned areas.Notices and addresses cleanliness or maintenance issues before they become larger problems.Maintains high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility.Demonstrates reliable attendance and punctuality.Completes assigned tasks on time with minimal supervision.Takes responsibility for maintaining assigned areas.Reports maintenance issues, safety concerns, and supply shortages promptly.Understands and follows written and verbal instructions.Communicates professionally with supervisors and coworkers.Work Environment:Warehouse environment with exposure to dust, noise, forklifts, and moving equipment.Mental Demands:Able to gather information, use logic to analyze information and adapt well in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to learn, grow, and adapt to changeAbility and willingness to work collaborativelySelf-motivated with strong problem-solving abilityWillingness to give and receive constructive criticismAbility to analyze workload and establish priorities with time sensitive deadlinesAbility to make sound decisions and see buy-in from othersPhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have:the ability to stand, walk for moderately long distances, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) weight up to 50lbsAbility to use a keyboard and type proficientlySpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Experience:Previous janitorial, custodial, or warehouse cleaning experience preferred but not required.Other Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
