Avila Golf & Country Club is seeking an experienced and talented Line Cook to join our culinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled cook who takes pride in preparing high-quality, fine cuisine in an upscale country club environment.

The ideal candidate has a strong culinary background, excellent knowledge of cooking techniques, and the ability to perform consistently in a fast-paced kitchen. Culinary education or formal culinary training is required.

A cooking interview is required as part of the hiring process.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and Chef specifications
• Prepare, portion, and organize ingredients before service
• Maintain appropriate food levels and stock the line throughout service
• Work efficiently during busy meal periods and special events
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
• Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively
• Break down and clean the line at the end of each shift
• Communicate effectively with the culinary team and respond to kitchen orders
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Culinary education, culinary degree, or formal culinary training required
• 9+ years of professional cooking experience
• Previous experience in a full-service restaurant, country club, hotel, or similar environment preferred
• Experience with breakfast and lunch service
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Dependable, task-oriented, and detail-focused approach to work
• Solid professional references

Schedule Requirements

This position requires flexibility and availability for:

• Early mornings
• Evenings
• Weekends
• Holidays
• Special events and busy periods
• Occasional overtime as needed

Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Additional Requirements

• Must have reliable transportation
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Must have a clean driving record

Physical Requirements

This is an active kitchen position requiring the ability to:

• Stand and move for up to 8 hours during a shift
• Work in a hot kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, and open flames
• Lift and carry food supplies, pots, pans, and other items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Frequently bend, reach, lift, and move throughout the kitchen
• Use knives and other kitchen equipment safely and accurately
• Move quickly and efficiently during busy service periods
• Hear and respond to kitchen communication and orders in a busy environment
