This role is ideal for a confident OR RN who enjoys fast-paced perioperative nursing, works well in a team setting, and is ready to step into a highly skilled operating room environment.Job Details\n \n Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)\n Employment Type: Travel Nurse Assignment\n Setting: Operating Room / Perioperative Services\n Location: Abilene, TX 79601\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n Schedule: 3 x 12-hour day shifts, 06:30 AM - 07:00 PM\n Weekly Hours: 36\n Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,110 - $2,220\n Orientation: 40 hours\n Call / Late Days: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday block with call and late days as required\n Job Requirements\n \n Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at the time of submission\n Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience in the service line\n Craniotomy and burr hole experience required\n Experience with neuro/spine, ortho/trauma, and general/robotics/trauma cases strongly preferred\n Previous charge nurse experience preferred\n Allscripts experience preferred\n Certifications preferred or required for the assignment include ACLS, BLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC\n Comfort working with adult, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patient populations\n Previous travel nursing experience preferred\n Ability to complete required lab items promptly after offer acceptance\n Responsibilities\n \n Provide safe, high-quality nursing care in the operating room for complex surgical cases\n Support neuro/spine, orthopedic trauma, and general/robotic procedures\n Circulate and assist with specialized surgical cases, including craniotomy and burr hole procedures\n Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and the perioperative team to ensure smooth case flow\n Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support efficient operating room workflow\n Adapt to a busy surgical environment while maintaining excellent patient advocacy and safety standards\n Participate in call coverage and late shifts as scheduled\n Contribute to a supportive team culture focused on high standards of care\n \n Apply now to take the next step in your Texas healthcare career as a Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse in Abilene.
