Nurse Manager

Overview Position Title: Nurse Manager (26141845). Location: Helena, MT – Grasslands facility, an off-site unit of Montana State Hospital. This position is funded through June 30, 2027. After this date, funding may continue or may be subject to a reduction in force (RIF). Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) offers a career opportunity within the Montana State Hospital – Grasslands to provide leadership in a psychiatric inpatient setting. Responsibilities Provide assistance and support to clients in maintaining a therapeutic environment. Monitor and evaluate nursing services, including providing immediate assistance, consultation, and problem solving during crisis and high-risk situations. Coordinate and review investigations of unusual incidents, patient grievances, complaints, and allegations of abuse. Supervise assigned staff and patient services. Advise on shift operations and ensure quality patient care; shift differential may be available and one meal is provided per shift. Qualifications Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to determine the best solutions. Knowledge of nursing, medications, rehabilitation, treatment planning, and techniques for psychiatric illnesses. Ability to use critical thinking and sound judgment in emergent hospital settings. Skilled in personnel management and supervision. RN Associate Degree. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Montana.
