Controls Engineering SpecialistRole: Controls Engineering SpecialistPosition Objective: Apply Controls Engineering knowledge and experience to Metalsa manufacturing processes while maintaining the safest environment possible, quality standards, and productivity to achieve optimal plant performance.Accountabilities:Comply with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality Systems guidelines (Responsibilities and authorities) currently applicable to the area and the entire plant.Follow the guidelines in the employee Handbook (Paid Time Off (PTO), training, FMLA, and labor affairs.)Compliance with internal control guidelines, audit and update practices & procedures, and respond to internal and external audits as needed or requested.Keep constant feedback with the Automation Coordinator.Seek continuous process improvement (productivity and profitability) through the application of engineering principles (Process redesign, new technologies, etc.).Contribute to define and follow the Standards for Control Engineering.Respond to the production process abnormalities (example: production T-cards) while focusing on continuous process improvements.Execute CapEx projects within the stated scope, timing, budget, and resources as assignedCreate work instructions that benefit the Production and Controls Engineering Teams.Research new technologies and develop new applications that improve overall plant performance.Education and Experience Requirements:Industrial Engineering degree or certification with 3-5 years of experience in industrial/automotive manufacturing or 5-7 years of experience in related roleProject management desirable2D software drawing (Drawing, Reading, etc.) - TwinCat, Beckhoff, and 2D Matrix and vision system (Cognex and DVT) preferred.Geometric and Dimensional Tolerancing (desired)Problem-solving tools (Experience applying problem-solving methodologies) and Critical thinking.Automated manufacturing troubleshooting (Control circuits, power circuits up to 480VAC, logic, motor control, robotics, etc.)PLC and HMI Software (RSLogix5, 500, 5000, Studio, Siemens S7, and PanelView)Robotic software and programming (ABB and Fanuc desirable)Salary Range: $110,000 - $115,000All employees are responsible for understanding and complying with applicable policies, procedures, and internal controls; executing assigned control activities; maintaining appropriate supporting evidence; and promptly reporting any identified deviation, risk, or control deficiency to the direct leader.Job InfoJob Identification 10724Posting Date 10/14/2026, 12:38 AMJob Schedule Full timeLocations 184 Vista Drive, ROANOKE, VIRGINIA, 24019, US
