We are looking for an Optometry Assistant to support welcoming and caring for patients in a high volume optometric practice. We focus on prevention, eye health and wellness with distinct technology and training. This role is ideal for a coachable, career-minded servant leader who is passionate about eye care, eager to build authentic team relationships, and committed to continuous learning. The assistant will participate in daily cross-training across reception, clinical and optical areas while using advanced technology to deliver an exceptional patient experience. Growth opportunities include paraoptometric certification, lead technician responsibilities, clinical team leadership, optical cross-training, and EyeSpa procedures and patient care.

• Tuesday & Thursday 8 am - 5:30 pm, and Friday 8 am - 12:30 pm (non-negotiable)

Responsibilities

• Register, welcome, and build enthusiasm for eye health and wellness
• Monitor patient intake, confirmations, patient correspondence and coordinate appointments.
• Perform preliminary testing and diagnostic imaging using ophthalmic imaging systems and diagnostic testing platforms.
• Document patient information and clinical encounters in electronic health records.
• Provide medical scribing support during patient care.
• Educate patients on eye-care technologies, procedures, and optical products.
• Support integrated clinical and optical systems and maintain quality throughout the patient experience.
• Participate in daily cross-training across multiple areas of the practice, including optical services and EyeSpa procedures and patient care.
• Contribute to a passionate, preventative, innovative, and relationship-focused team culture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience assisting in optometry.
• Preferred: Optometric technician or ophthalmic assistant coursework.
• Preferred: Certified Paraoptometric Assistant (CPOA) certification.
• Preferred: Experience with ophthalmic imaging and medical scribing.
• Preferred: Optical product knowledge and optical refraction experience.
• Preferred: Strong patient education and team collaboration skills.
• Preferred: Willingness to pursue additional certifications and take on expanded clinical and leadership responsibilities.
• Preferred: Ability to remain coachable, open to new information, and committed to long-term professional growth.
