Sr Social Worker - LCSW (PRN)

Job Title & Specialty Area: Sr Social Worker - PRN Department: Allied Health Location: Dallas Shift: As needed Job Type: On-site Summary This job is an hourly version of an exempt role. Typically used for part‑time or PRN assignments in addition to the essential functions of the Clinical Social Worker MSW. The position specializes in helping families adjust to acute and ongoing medical stressors, providing psychiatric, psychological, and biopsychosocial support for the inpatient, outpatient, and emergency departments. These services include diagnostic evaluations, behavioral management of ill children, and work with children and families to help them coordinate patient care. The position also provides families with practical coping strategies to prevent or more effectively deal with the onset of emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with their medical experience. Responsibilities Perform psychiatric and biopsychosocial screening and assessment of patients and families; obtain information, diagnose, provide therapeutic interventions, and make referrals as appropriate for families in crisis. Provide supportive counseling to aid adjustment to patient’s condition and hospitalization. Perform psychiatric evaluations on children, adolescents, and families for mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders with special emphasis on risk of suicidality and safety, providing appropriate interventions grounded in evidence‑based practice. Evaluate clinical needs of the patient, recommend treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow‑up care programs while providing therapeutic crisis intervention. Provide supervision, training and instruction to social work department employees and graduate students on the provision of therapeutic services. Develop and facilitate professional education on behavioral and mental health issues for clinical social work staff. How You’ll Be Successful At least 2 years working as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). At least 5 years experience as a professional social worker in health care. At least 2 years experience in pediatric health care. Education Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience. Licenses and Certifications Texas LCSW licensure.
