Structural Engineer

JGMS Government Services is looking to hire a structural engineer that will work within a project team environment to support construction projects. This position is full-time and will be performed on-site in Niskayuna, NY. Candidates must have an active DOE L security clearance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and define project scope with sponsors.
• Work with a project team to develop specifications, cost estimates, drawing reviews, and provide engineering support during the construction phase for buildings and utility projects.
• Oversee architectural engineering firms in developing concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of science in structural engineering.
• 5-10+ years experience performing structural engineering tasks including the development of contract documents, calculations, and cost estimates.
• Working knowledge of building codes and standards.
• Experience in construction administration (submittal review, RFI's, construction inspections, etc.).

Desired Qualifications

• EIT certificate and/or PE license
• Engineering consulting experience
• Working knowledge of NYS Building Codes, AISC, ASCE

Candidates must have an active DOE L security clearance.

A pre-employment drug screening and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verification is required.
