The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensationfor a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time). Pay Range: $85,259.20 - $111,404.80 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Position Overview ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Coordinates the development of orientation plans for the health care providers. Individualizes the orientation plan based on the experience level and learning needs of the orientee. Assists department manager to update and monitor the orientation process, monitors, and evaluates the progress of orientees. Demonstrates effective teaching skills and uses a variety of instructional methods/teaching strategies. Plans, coordinates and presents programs to meet the assessed learning needs of healthcare providers, patients and community as applicable. Exercises discretion and judgement when providing educational opportunities at times and places needed. Evaluates program outcome effectiveness based on the relevance and appropriateness of educational materials. Disseminates information about relevant learning offerings within and outside CH. Integrates information regarding evidence-based practice and CH regulatory standards in educational activities. Participates in developing, updating and maintaining educational materials. Develops education programs of population served in a collaborative environment. Demonstrates knowledge of current healthcare standards and a commitment to quality patient care. Functions as a resource in an advising and guiding role. Assists staff, preceptors, and orientees in work-related activities as needed. Assists with ensuring compliance with regulatory agency standards including DNV, DOH, CAP, CLIA and other regulatory agency standards. Participates in the evaluation of performance improvement and regulatory requirement data collection. Develops and updates standards, objectives, policies and procedures utilizing evidence-based practice. Participates in the resolution of clinical issues requiring educational intervention. Facilitates the critical thinking of healthcare providers to promote best practice. Assesses the learning needs and promotes the participation in performance improvement and regulatory requirement. Assists with competency development needs. Participates in departmental quality improvement and in hospital-wide performance improvement projects. Promotes learning activities that enable healthcare providers to integrate evidence-based medicine into practice. Promotes the professional development of CH employees. Assists with the completion of performance appraisals. Assesses and documents the achievement of staff competence. Participates in staff meetings and CH committees. Assists in the maintenance of records for educational activities. Promotes accuracy and completeness of documentation in the patient medical record. Participates in performance improvement, regulatory requirement data collection and documentation. Performs other duties and responsibilities upon request. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education : Graduate of an AMA approved and accredited program of study in Respiratory Care. BSRT or Bachelor’s degree in a Biological Science required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Requires ACCS (Adult Critical Care Specialist) and NPS (Neonatal Pediatric Specialist) or must obtain within one year of hire date. Experience: Three years’ experience working as a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in an acute care healthcare facility. Experience in staff training and performing competency assessment for other staff. Other Credentials: AHA ACLS or must obtain within 6 months of hire date,AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider,AHA NRP or must obtain within 6 months of hire date,AHA PALS or must obtain within 6 months of hire date.,Respiratory Care Practitioner Knowledge and Skills : Effective written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of adult learning principles and classroom techniques. Strong interpersonal skills.
