Revolution Ice Centre is seeking an exceptionally organized, people-first General Manager to run our facility day to day. We want a strong manager in the mold of a great office manager: dependable, detail oriented, comfortable wearing many hats, and not afraid to get their hands dirty. You should be excellent with people, able to develop new business, and able to keep the whole operation running smoothly.

This is not a desk role. The General Manager is visible and engaged throughout the building, leading staff, taking care of customers, and doing the work when needed — including operating the Zamboni ice resurfacer. Ice or sports facility experience is a plus, not a requirement. Nights and weekends are required. During peak season (September through April), you should plan on 45 to 52 hours per week, including Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays. The facility is closed May through most of August with reduced hours during that period.

Running the Operation

• Own daily operations and keep the facility organized, on schedule, and running smoothly

• Manage bookings, programs, and the calendar across public skating, learn to skate, hockey, camps, parties, rentals, and events

• Learn and Operate the Zamboni ice resurfacer and coordinate ice maintenance

• Track the details others miss, from supplies to staffing to follow ups

• Coordinate contractors and vendors for maintenance and facility projects

• Fill empty ice time by creating and marketing new programs (stick times, open hockey, clinics, group events)

Working with People

• Serve as the face of the facility with a strong presence during operating hours

• Handle customer concerns directly and hold high service standards

• Build retention and repeat business through genuine relationships and reliable follow up

• Develop new business with schools, youth organizations, teams, and local businesses, and improve ice utilization

Leading the Staff

• Hire, train, schedule, and manage a primarily seasonal, younger workforce

• Set clear expectations when hiring on schedules, hours, and job duties

• Mentor young staff on professionalism, accountability, and service

• Hold staff accountable when expectations are not met

• Manage labor and scheduling efficiently

Marketing and Community

• Support marketing across social media, email, promotions, and community partnerships

• Help position Revolution Ice Centre as a top ice sports and entertainment destination in the region

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work nights and weekends consistently, including 45 to 52 hour weeks during peak season

• Proven management experience, ideally running a busy operation

• Exceptional organization and attention to detail

• Comfort with hands-on physical work, including operating heavy equipment

• Strong people skills and customer service leadership

• Experience managing staff and schedules

• Willingness to hold staff accountable and have hard conversations when needed

• Eager to learn new systems and take on new responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Sports facility, fitness center, or entertainment venue experience

• Ice skating or hockey background

• Event planning or program development experience
