Registered Nurse - Med Surg, PostOp

Location: Portland, ME

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, with every other weekend required.

Job Description: This position is for a fast-paced, high acuity unit. The successful candidate will work hard while enjoying a team-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to high acuity patients, including complex medical and surgical care.
• Manage and monitor patient care including IVs, PCA, and various types of drips and feeds.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort through appropriate techniques and interventions.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and participate in unit activities.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions and treatments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Must have at least 2 years of recent acute care experience in a high acuity environment.
• Current RN license is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Experience working with high-acuity patients, particularly in Cardio and Med Tele specialties, is a must.
