About the Role:

Southern Truck Equipment Inc is looking for an experienced and driven Shop Manager to lead our team in Almont, MI. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee daily shop operations, keep projects moving, and ensure top-quality work is delivered every time. Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day shop operations, workflow, and production scheduling

Supervise, mentor, and manage shop technicians and support staff

Ensure quality control standards are met on all truck equipment installations and repairs

Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to meet project deadlines and customer expectations

Manage parts inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships

Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized shop environment

Troubleshoot technical issues and provide hands-on guidance to technicians as needed

Requirements:

Proven experience in a shop management or lead technician role, preferably in truck equipment or automotive

Strong knowledge of truck upfitting, fabrication, or heavy equipment installation

Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to read and interpret work orders, schematics, and technical documents

Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset

Valid driver's license required; CDL or relevant certifications a plus
