Primary Job Responsibilities Understand project scopes, client expectations, and deliverables in coordination with Project Managers. Support and uphold project safety plans, ensuring full compliance with safety protocols. Perform field surveys including control networks, boundary, topographic, and laser scanning tasks. Collect survey data using Trimble GNSS receivers, total stations, digital levels, laser scanners, and data collectors. Ensure field work complies with local, state, and national regulations. Produce clear, detailed field notes and deliver high-quality data for office processing. Maintain organized records of survey activities and ensure data integrity. Perform routine equipment checks and calibrations. Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders. Work outdoors in variable weather conditions and challenging environments. Operate independently with strong task focus and accountability. Represent Jacobs in the field with professionalism and integrity. Stay current with emerging surveying technologies and recommend improvements for efficiency. Why Join Jacobs? Here’s what you’ll need 2+ years of experience as an Instrument Operator, Party Chief, or Survey Technician. Experience with the following disciplines is preferred: topographic design surveys, laser scanning, UAV pilot, subsurface utilities, boundary and/or ROW. 2+ years of experience in the industry with a proven ability to complete all aspects of a field surveying task. Reputation as a trusted and respected member of the surveying community. Must have good social and communication skills. Ability to pass drug screen and background checks. High school diploma or GED. Ideally, you’ll also have Experience with Trimble equipment and software is preferred. Ability to travel up to 50% of time. The base salary range for this position is $58,200.00 to $100,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
