I.              Position Summary:  

This position is responsible for providing support to the Cardiology Department by performing secretarial duties and general                 clerical work as well as assisting them with scheduling and other duties as assigned.

II.            Position Requirements:

1. Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A

1. Education: High School Diploma required

1. Experience:  Previous clerical experience preferred

1. Special qualifications: Must have the ability to organize and prioritize tasks appropriately and possess excellent composition and oral communication skills, excellent computer skills preferred, with experience in data entry and scanning. Must be able to interact with people from different educational and socio-economic backgrounds. Must be flexible and possess the ability to deal with change and display tact and diplomacy in many different situations.

III.          Degree of Supervision Required:  Minimal supervision. Most job duties should be performed independently and in compliance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

IV.          Ages of Patients Served: This position requires competence in greeting patients upon arrival, as well as gathering insurance and demographic information from the patient.
