Report Writer

Job Description

We are seeking a Report Writer to support enterprise reporting needs across administrative and academic departments. This individual will work directly with internal stakeholders to evaluate reporting requests, develop new reports, modify existing reports, and provide data-driven solutions that support operational and compliance reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience writing SQL queries, working with Banner data, and translating business reporting needs into accurate and actionable reporting solutions. This role will collaborate closely with departments such as the Registrar's Office, Financial Aid, and other administrative offices to deliver reporting and analytics support. The pay rate for this role is between $40- $60 an hour depending on years of experience.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Meet with internal clients to understand reporting needs.

• Evaluate requests for new reports and enhancements to • •Write SQL queries and reporting logic in an Oracle environment.

• Develop and maintain reports using Banner data and Cognos Analytics.

• Utilize data from Banner

• Test and validate report outputs for accuracy.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and team members on reporting projects.

Skills and Requirements

• Experience writing SQL queries for reporting and data analysis.

• Experience developing and maintaining operational and business reports.

• Ability to gather requirements and translate business needs into reporting solutions.

• Experience working with relational databases, preferably Oracle.

• Experience working in a Higher Education environment.

• Experience with Ellucian Banner.

• Experience with Cognos Analytics or similar reporting platforms.

• Familiarity with student, registrar, enrollment, and financial aid data.

•Experience supporting institutional reporting and compliance requirements. Operational Data Store (ODS) environments.
