Scooter's Coffee Barista Position

The barista is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving a variety of coffee and other beverages, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. You will be a key member of our team, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for all our customers.

You are applying to work with a franchisee of Scooter's Coffee. If hired, the franchisee will be your only employer. Franchisees are independent business owners who set own terms of employment, including wage and benefit programs, which can vary between franchisees.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere. Take accurate orders and ensure customer satisfaction. Provide friendly and helpful assistance with menu items and recommendations. Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues efficiently. Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
• Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, espresso, and other beverages according to company standards. Learn and follow all recipes and preparation methods. Maintain knowledge of our coffee menu and offerings. Ensure beverages are prepared to the highest quality standards. Operate and maintain coffee equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and other brewing equipment.
• Workspace Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee bar and surrounding areas. Follow all health and safety guidelines and procedures. Stock and replenish supplies as needed. Clean and sanitize equipment and surfaces regularly.
• Other Duties: Assist with opening and closing procedures. Process payments accurately and efficiently. Participate in team training and development activities. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Skills: Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately. Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory. Knowledge of coffee preparation methods and equipment preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or food service role preferred. Experience with coffee preparation and equipment a plus.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Other: Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Reliable and punctual attendance. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
