Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or CRT for a 13-week night shift travel assignment at a hospital in Key West, FL, requiring 2+ years of experience and comfort working independently in a NICU setting.

Details

• Inpatient respiratory therapy department at a hospital in Key West, FL
• Patient population includes NICU and pediatric patients
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts (non-block scheduling)
• Charting system: Medhost
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• FL RRT or CRT license required (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• NICU experience required; pediatric experience also acceptable
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP
• No certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• AHCA background check required for Florida placements
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Candidates must not have gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include ventilator management, airway maintenance, delivery of medicated aerosols, pulmonary function studies, blood gas analysis, cardiac and pulmonary stress tests, and arterial line insertion
• Assists physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures, including intubations
• Provides both diagnostic and therapeutic cardiopulmonary services to inpatient and neonatal/pediatric patients
• Must be comfortable working independently in a NICU environment
• CRTs will be considered in addition to RRTs
• RTO requests must be less than one week in duration
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
