Senior Enterprise Architect, Military Engines (Remote)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect, Military Engines (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space. This role will shape long-term architecture strategy and modernization efforts across a complex enterprise environment. The architect will partner with business and technology leaders to translate strategy into practical plans that support transformation, resilience, and interoperability. This is a highly influential position focused on governance, digital engineering enablement, and guiding multi-year technology direction in a mission-driven aerospace and defense context.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $132,400 – $251,600 annually
Responsibilities
- Own and develop multi-year modernization roadmaps across multiple architecture domains
- Translate business strategy into actionable architecture plans for major enterprise platforms
- Guide transformation initiatives to align with enterprise technology direction
- Implement architecture methodologies and standards that improve consistency and resilience
- Promote API-first and event-driven architecture patterns to enhance interoperability
- Support enterprise data architecture strategy and develop ontologies and semantic models
- Mentor architects and lead communities of practice to encourage knowledge sharing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or Information Systems with 10+ years of IT experience, or an advanced degree with 7+ years in a senior architect role
- Demonstrated experience in enterprise architecture thought leadership and long-term roadmap creation
- Strong understanding of digital engineering and model-based technologies such as MBSE and MBD
- Experience establishing global architecture processes and governance standards
- Deep expertise in cloud-native designs and modern architecture frameworks, along with API governance and integration patterns
- Proven ability to lead and influence virtual teams in the creation of long-term strategies
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills for clear business communications
