Cross-Functional Representative

As a Cross-Functional Representative, you'll provide general customer service, checking on the front end, and work across multiple departments in packaging, stocking, rotation, production, and sanitation duties. Key responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, answering customer questions regarding products, taking orders, assisting with product selection, and using suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales. You may make regular product announcements to inform customers and work a flexible schedule to accommodate shifts of different departments. You will perform duties in multiple departments, to include technical or perishable areas such as bakery, floral, market, etc. You will also perform stocking and replenishment, product returns and rotation, product selection, service support, inventory accuracy, and additional duties across the total store, in multiple departments. You will build, stock, and maintain displays and fixtures, assist with inventory control; load, unload, and move product, slice, package, label, rotate, merchandise, cull, and price product. You will gain knowledge of multiple departments; apply understanding of processes/policies, comply with store and department SOPs, policies, and applicable laws. For the service cross functional team, you will work as a checker when not performing cross functional duties. You will ensure compliance with departmental/store SOPs for food safety and sanitation, properly operate and maintain all equipment, clean/sanitize sales floor, display cases, prep areas, and equipment.

Qualifications and key requirements include 0+ years 6+ months of experience in H-E-B store operations, knowledge of computer systems (Symbol, ACR, label machine), customer service and interpersonal skills, verbal/written communication and reading skills, ability to adapt to performing a wide range of duties across multiple departments, ability to work autonomously, HS diploma or GED or equivalent, and completion of company orientation and safety training. Physical demands include functioning in a fast-paced, retail environment, requiring detailed and precise tasks, working with customers, staying attentive to their needs, and working flexible schedules to accommodate differing department shifts. Department-specific physical demands include reaching, standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, stair climbing, pivoting, twisting, pushing/pulling with arms, pinching, and performing fine motor movements. You will also be exposed to various conditions such as wet, cold, hot, loud noise, and ambient temperatures. You will demonstrate the ability to lift and manage weights as specified for each department.
