Position Overview
We are seeking a strong, hands-on Director of Compliance to lead all compliance, licensing, regulatory, and quality assurance functions across our daycare, preschool, and school-age child care programs.
This individual will serve as the organization's compliance leader, ensuring all locations remain fully compliant with Article 47, NYC Department of Health, DOE, OCFS, CACFP, and all applicable childcare regulations. The ideal candidate is a proactive, solutions-oriented leader who can identify compliance risks, navigate inspections, implement corrective actions, and build systems that keep programs operating at the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead compliance across all daycare and preschool locations.
- Ensure compliance with Article 47, DOH, DOE, OCFS, CACFP, and SACC/SAAC requirements.
- Prepare for and manage inspections, audits, and licensing reviews.
- Conduct site visits, compliance audits, and operational reviews.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and compliance systems.
- Train and support directors and staff on regulatory requirements.
- Monitor certifications, documentation, and regulatory deadlines.
- Investigate compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Partner with leadership to maintain inspection-ready programs.
Qualifications
Required
- Leadership experience within daycare, childcare, preschool, or early childhood programs.
- Qualified to serve as an Educational Director in New York State.
- Strong knowledge of Article 47 and NYC DOH daycare regulations.
- Experience with DOE, CACFP, OCFS, and SACC/SAAC requirements.
- Experience managing inspections, audits, licensing, and compliance reviews.
- Experience supporting programs serving children ages 0–5.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
