Appian Software Engineer SME

Assured Information Security (AIS) is looking for an Appian Software Engineer SME to work on-site at one of the following locations: Elkridge, MD, Annapolis Junction, MD, Washington, DC or Reston, VA. 

What You’ll Do:

• Gather, analyze, and define requirements to determine the most effective software and web technologies to satisfy client needs. 
• Develop, maintain, support, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements, providing specific input to system design, and adhering to formal design processes and guidelines. 
• Design and develop user-friendly interfaces, maintain technical documentation, and ensure quality control of software. 
• Select development processes, recommend new technologies, and troubleshoot complex software problems. 
• Integrate new products with existing applications to improve system functionality and design. 

Education/Experience/Skillset Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field and 5 years’ experience or a Master’s degree and 3 years’ experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to complete development work on the high-side Linux environment
• Experience with both Java and Python.
• Backend database experience with either MongoDB or Postgres.
• At least 2 years of experience designing, developing or supporting Appian or Appian-based applications.

Preferred:

• Cloud experience
• Experience with FIDOS-X 

Travel: Up to 10% 

Security Clearance - Must possess active TS/SCI with CI Poly

US Salary Range: $130,000 - $170,000

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
