Mechanical Designer

Work with Engineering to create parts, assemblies, and layouts in Creo Parametric Produce and develop designs and documentation using computer design and product life cycle management systems Create supporting documentation using multiple systems and applications Recognize and recommend solutions for design or product configuration problems Detect and correct own errors and errors of others Translate verbal and written instructions into drawings of HVAC products Create sketches, 2D and 3D engineering drawings, and common computations Create assemblies and sheet metal parts using 3D CAD modeling software Provide technical support and answer questions from other departments about drawings or design data Adhere to company safety and security policies and procedures Manage project schedules and teams for assigned projects Direct tasks or efforts for self and potentially others on projects, ensuring completion of assignments Requirements 3+ years of experience in lieu of a degree, or Associate’s Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering Experience with SolidWorks, Creo Parametric, Creo Schematics, Inventor, or ProEngineer Experience coordinating and directing project planning and scheduling Working knowledge of change control, bills of material, product definition and selection, machine design, castings, fabrication, sheet metal, GD&T, tolerance analysis, electrical and electronics, heat transfer, piping, and welding In-depth knowledge of design and drafting standard practices, methods, and processes Ability to make sketches, 2D and 3D engineering drawings, and common computations Ability to create assemblies and sheet metal parts using 3D CAD modeling software Ability to recognize and recommend solutions for design or product configuration problems Ability to work with minor independent judgment under close direction of senior staff Ability to manage project schedules and teams for assigned projects Ability to direct tasks or efforts for self and potentially others Ability to adhere to company safety and security policies and procedures Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in 3D CAD modeling, particularly with Creo Parametric and SolidWorks, while effectively managing project schedules and teams.
