Data Migration Engineer Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid 3 to 4 Days Onsite) Duration: 12-Month Contract (06/25/2026 06/25/2027) Interview: Video Interview Industry : International Development / Enterprise Data Modernization / Cloud Migration Client Note: Local with DL copy and LinkedIn with location Strong hands‑on Data Migration experience is mandatory Experience with enterprise‑scale legacy system migrations preferred AWS and Azure cloud migration expertise highly preferred Looking for candidates with extensive ETL/ELT pipeline development and cutover execution experience About the Role: Seeking a Data Migration Engineer to support enterprise data modernization initiatives involving large‑scale migration of legacy systems into modern cloud platforms. This role will focus on one‑time and phased mass data migration efforts, ensuring zero data loss, strict adherence to data mapping rules, and seamless production cutovers. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in ETL/ELT development, data engineering, cloud migration, Oracle databases, AWS, Azure, and enterprise data quality practices while working closely with Business Analysts, Architects, and cross‑functional Agile teams. Required: 5+ years of Data Engineering and ETL/ELT development experience Large‑scale Data Migration experience from legacy relational databases Advanced SQL expertise Strong Python programming experience Oracle Database experience AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS) Databricks experience AWS RDS experience Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS Gen2) ETL/ELT Pipeline Development Data Cleansing, Standardization, and Validation Data Modeling and Database Design Data Reconciliation and Cutover Planning IAM, RBAC, Microsoft Entra ID, and AWS KMS security implementation Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills Skills: AWS Certified Data Engineer Associate Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer Associate SharePoint data migration experience Cloud Data Platform modernization projects Enterprise Data Governance experience Agile/Scrum project experience Experience supporting financial or international development organizations Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or related quantitative field #J-18808-Ljbffr
