Job Title and Location Electrical Design Team Lead – Cambridge, ON (On-site) Job Type and Compensation Full‑time | $45.00 - $65.00 per hour Benefits RRSP matching program Health, dental, vision package Tuition and professional dues reimbursement Paid vacation and personal days Paid sick days Responsibilities Recognize problems, initiate action, assist in problem solving, and evaluate results on major hardware design issues before releasing drawings to manufacturing. Review and approve all project designs to ensure they meet Eclipse high standards of quality, reliability, and safety. Develop and coordinate project designs within the Electrical Engineering team. Ensure concepts meet Eclipse Automation quality, safety, and reliability standards. Guide, direct, teach, assist, and advise department staff on practical design practices and standards. Assist staff in their development through coaching and mentoring. Organize and coordinate assigned staff to prioritize project delivery. Lead the hardware design project team to ensure project contract deliverables are met. Work to specific project budgets and milestones provided by project management. Promote positive relations with partners, customers, vendors, and distributors. Liaise between all departments to ensure on‑time delivery of purchased items and Eclipse machinery and equipment. Promote environmentally and ergonomically secure conceptual product and processes to ensure safety of Eclipse personnel and the customer’s employees. Initiate and supervise the planning and development of project electrical and controls designs and order any required department materials. Project Execution Serve as the point‑of‑contact for the Project Management department for all assigned projects. Update project completion with respect to weekly confirmation of critical milestones, labour hours, material budget, and percent complete on project. Ensure scheduled milestones are met and elevate to Project Management if a milestone is at risk. Update Open Issues List as required. Assist in performance reviews. Assume full responsibility for hardware design scope of assigned projects. Ensure that Company ISO Standards are followed. Enter project tasks correctly and promptly for accurate man‑hour records for the Project Management department. Respond to CARs issued to the department, as requested. Qualifications Completed a University Degree or College Diploma in Electrical, Systems, Mechatronics, or Robotics Automation Technology. Intermediate level experience with EPLAN and AutoCAD and proficiency with MS Office. Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls, and integration of equipment. 7+ years of experience in the custom automation industry. Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
