Adjunct position for the didactic setting and/or clinical rotations teaching Certified Nursing Assistant Course.

Minimum Education/Training/Experience - Vocational Nurse with Texas Licensure; One (1) year of long term care / skilled nursing facility clinical practice experience in a medical setting.-Current, evidence-based knowledge in nursing practice- Ability to integrate real-world experience into teaching- Adapts teaching methods for diverse learners (including nontraditional students)- Dependable, punctual, and accountable- Empathy toward students, colleagues, and patients- Ability to provide constructive feedback with kindness- Open and approachable for students- Organized with strong attention to detail- Demonstrates clear, concise, and professional communication skills (written and verbal)- Effectively prioritizes tasks and manages multiple deadlines- Proactively communicates progress, challenges, and solutions- Highly motivated contributing team memberOfficial transcript is required at time of employment. Preferred Education/Training/Experience - Associate of Applied Science degree in nursing with Texas Licensure. Teaching experience.

Minimum Knowledge & Skills - Principles and practices of teaching;Training techniques;Detailed knowledge of material being taught in the specific course and program area;Knowledge of student engagement techniques;Record keeping procedures.Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with students, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.Ability to conduct formal classes in all nursing subject areas.Ability to provide supervision to students during clinical practicums.Ability to adapt instructional content in order to meet learning needs of students from varied educational and cultural backgrounds.

Job Duties - Responsible for providing instruction within theCNAprogram. Teach approved curriculum and course work. Provide scheduled office hours for student consultation. Participate in student orientation, instruction, and advisement activities as assigned.- Coordinate safe care of patients by student.- Maintain Texas Nursing Licensure and credentials.- Maintain current immunizations andCPRas required by clinical agencies.- Models ethical, compassionate, and culturally competent care- Upholds academic and clinical standards- Serves as a role model and mentor for students- Advocates for student success and academic integrity- Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Licensing/Certification Requirements - Current and Unencumbered Texas VN or RN licensure.Clear Drug Screen and background check.Proof of immunizations and clinical readiness documentation.

Physical Requirements - High physical demand. Must be able to stoop, bend, lift, and assist in patient care/clinical teaching situations, or demonstrate ability to perform tasks successful. Possible exposure to communicable diseases through patient care clinical experience. Must be able to work evenings and/or weekends when assigned.
