Raytheon's Receiver/Exciter & Processing Architecture (REPA) Department is the focal point for receiver, exciter, beam steering, and signal processing technology within Raytheon. The department is responsible for the design, development, integration, and support to production builds, and lifecycle support of Raytheon products. We have an opportunity for a Principal RF Design Engineer who is seeking to utilize their academic background and professional experience in RF / Microwave system theory and design to help develop the next generation of Raytheon’s Radar Receiver, Exciter, and Transmitter products. What You Will Do:Design and development of transmitters, receivers, or exciters.Design and optimization of RF circuits – either chains of components (receiver, exciter, etc.) or individual parts (filters, limiters, couplers, etc.).Working with interdisciplinary teams – power, digital, mechanical, etc.Schematic capture and RF routing.Technical support during the transition to production and support to production activities.This 1st shift role will be 100% on-site and based in either Tewksbury, MA or Marlborough, MA.Qualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 8 years’ of prior relevant experience.Experience with Microwave/RF system, subsystem and or component analysis, design and or test.Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools (e.G., HFSS, ADS, CST, and or Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition) and analytical tools (e.G., MATLAB).The ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Qualifications We Prefer:Experience working in design, from concept through production.Experience translating system performance and operation specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications.Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints, which includes yield and margin analysis.Problem-solving skills with ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges.Experience in technical / proposal writing and oral presentations.Technical background in any of the following areas:Cascade analysis and/or frequency planningFilter design and fabricationCircuit card assembly and fabricationHigh speed data converter test / characterizationLow Noise RF source design and test experienceActive / Existing Secret U.S. Security Clearance.What We Offer:Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
