At Woofie’s of Northborough , our mobile grooming vans are essential to our business. We are looking for a reliable and experienced mechanic who can help us keep our vans safe, dependable, and operational so our grooming team can serve clients without unnecessary downtime.

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Part-Time Fleet Mechanic to perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on our mobile pet grooming vans. In addition to normal vehicle maintenance, our vans contain grooming-related equipment and systems, so experience troubleshooting basic electrical, plumbing, generator, battery, or similar auxiliary systems is highly desirable.

The mechanic must also have reasonable availability during weekdays to respond to occasional emergency service calls, on-site or virtual, when an issue prevents or significantly impacts grooming operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine vehicle inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and recommend appropriate repairs.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical and auxiliary systems used in mobile grooming vans.
• Inspect and help maintain batteries, generators, water pumps, plumbing, HVAC, and other onboard equipment as applicable.
• Identify potential problems before they result in van downtime or breakdowns.
• Provide on-site or on-call assistance for occasional emergency breakdowns or equipment issues during the workweek.
• Coordinate larger or specialized repairs when necessary.
• Communicate clearly with management regarding repairs, parts needed, costs, and recommended maintenance.

Qualifications

• Previous professional automotive mechanic or fleet maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with commercial RAM ProMaster vans is preferred.
• Experience with generators, batteries, plumbing, pumps, or mobile service vehicles is a plus.
• Must have appropriate tools and ability to perform common maintenance and repair work.
• Dependable, professional, and able to work independently.
• Must have reasonable weekday availability and the ability to travel to the van’s location for occasional emergency service calls.
