Team Member

The Team Member is responsible for the day-to-day operations at Fast Stop Markets. The primary role is to provide efficient and friendly customer service while maintaining a clean and organized store. At Fast Stop Markets locations with a deli, the Team Member will also be responsible for ensuring that food is prepared and presented to high standards, and customers receive quality food in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service to ensure customer satisfaction. Greet customers, assist them in locating products, and answer their questions. Handle customer transactions, including operating the cash register, processing payments, and providing accurate change. Maintain a clean and organized store environment to create a positive shopping experience for customers.
• Conduct customer transactions, including operating the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately and securely. Process cash and credit card payments. Count and reconcile cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts. Maintain accurate records of transactions and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Receive, check, and stock inventory in the store. Ensure that products are displayed properly and that shelves are properly stocked and faced.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify the Team Leader when products need to be reordered. Rotate and organize products to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage or expiration.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards. Clean and sanitize surfaces, shelves, coolers, and other areas of the store. Regularly check and maintain the cleanliness of restrooms and public areas.
• Monitor the store premises for any suspicious activities and report any concerns to the supervisor or appropriate authorities. Follow security procedures, including verifying the age of customers for age-restricted products such as alcohol and tobacco. Adhere to safety protocols, including proper handling and storage of hazardous materials and adherence to fire safety regulations.
• Stay informed about store policies, promotions, and product information. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Follow legal and regulatory requirements related to the sale of specific products, such as alcohol and tobacco.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities at Deli Locations:

• Prepare ingredients for cooking. Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistent quality. Chop, slice, and dice ingredients as required. Marinate, season, and cook menu items.
• Operate cooking equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and microwaves. Cook and assemble food items according to established procedures. Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food safety and quality. Handle and store food products safely, following proper food handling guidelines. Ensure that cooked food meets food safety and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area. Clean and sanitize food preparation surfaces, cooking equipment and utensils. Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations and guidelines. Dispose of waste properly and ensure compliance with waste management procedures.
• Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner. Take customer orders and prepare food items according to their preferences. Provide recommendations and answer questions about menu items. Handle customer complaints or concerns with courtesy and efficiency. Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality food and service.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of food ingredients and supplies. Notify the Team Leader of low stock items and assist with replenishment. Rotate and label food items to ensure freshness and prevent spoilage. Assist with regular inventory audits and stock checks.
