Accountant Lead - Manufacturing

Lead Accountant The Lead Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate daily accounting operations and supporting the financial health of the organization. This position plays a critical leadership role in managing financial reporting, month‑end close processes, compliance, and internal controls while supporting operational efficiency across departments. The essential responsibilities include: Manage daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets Prepare month‑end and year‑end close processes Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and inventory transactions Maintain accurate cost accounting records for manufacturing operations Assist CFO with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Assist CFO with accounting analysis and customer portals, and adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and government contract requirements Support external audits, tax preparation, and financial reporting requirements Monitor cash flow and assist with financial planning initiatives Develop and improve accounting procedures and internal controls Collaborate with operations, purchasing, HR, and leadership teams to align financial processes to support business objectives Provide guidance, training, and mentorship of accounting staff, fostering a positive work environment Assist with ERP system maintenance and process improvements Prepare management reports and financial metrics for executive leadership Requirements Must be highly organized, self‑motivated, able to work independently as well as lead others, and exhibit strong problem‑solving capabilities Must have excellent attention to detail and analytical skills Must have excellent communication and leadership abilities Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience 5 years previous experience in accounting required Manufacturing or government contract experience preferred Strong knowledge of accounting concepts, principles, and practices; particularly cost accounting and inventory management Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Experience with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Office programs; advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and financial modeling Advanced Industries LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
