Warehouse Operations, Driver (M-F 9:30a-6:30p)

Location: USA - North Plains, 28925 NW Union Rd Division: Solutions | Title: Warehouse Operations, Driver (M-F 9:30a-6:30p) | Type: Full Time Position Summary The Commercial Vehicle Driver / Warehouse Operator is a dual role. The Operations Driver safely operates commercial motor vehicles to perform local pick‑up and delivery, and conducts warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control. Responsibilities include verifying shipment paperwork, weighing/dimension checks, loading/unloading, staging and replenishment, product scanning, and accurate documentation. The driver adheres to DOT/FMCSR, company SOPs, and site safety policies, meeting performance, safety, and quality objectives. The Operations Driver also operates power industrial trucks for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise, and may perform Order Filler and Checker duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operations Driver Maintain a neat and orderly storage lot to maximize customer service efficiency. Operate company commercial vehicles within ~20 air‑mile radius to deliver and recover freight from customer locations. Verify shipment bills for required information before loading. Load and unload freight safely; weigh and check dimensions against shipper calculations. Sort outbound freight and load ULDs and trucks. Function and interact daily with warehouse supervisors, complying with safety requirements. Provide professional customer interaction during P&D; protect freight integrity and security. Properly use Airline/Electrical hookup and backing procedures. Follow all company policies, guidelines, and quality procedures. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Receiving/Put‑Away Use gas or electric forklifts/MHE to load outbound shipments, move and stack product, and efficiently store products in appropriate areas. Maintain an organized work area. Order Picking Pull and prepare for shipment, ensuring the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards. Prepare freight for operations accurately and timely as required. Quality Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free from damage. Report quality variances. Delivery Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage to production lines and/or staging docks. Ensure proper documentation accompanies freight. Inventory Maintain appropriate records and reports to guarantee tight inventory control and security. Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation. Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area, and assist in warehouse security. Comply with all SOPs, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards. Participate in safety meetings. Equipment Operation Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using forklifts, clamp trucks, drum attachments, or other power equipment. Maintain facility equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Inspect and perform minor maintenance on forklifts or other equipment daily. Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods. Maintain an active forklift certification. Maintenance Assistance in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned. Other Duties Change forklift fuel tanks as needed; participate in physical inventories; perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed. Repair pallets, trailers, and truck bays as requested. Help maintain the facility to provide a clean, safe work environment. Perform other duties as required. Work overtime as dictated by business; may be mandatory or voluntary. Supervisory Responsibilities None Minimum Required Qualifications Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED. 6 months experience in logistics, distribution, or relevant environment. Ability to operate MHE. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations Completion of a forklift training program. Valid driver’s license. Background checks, clearances, and drug/alcohol tests (e.g., airport or TSA as applicable). Other Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from mild to moderate within the warehouse. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Computer Skills Basic computer skills. RF scanners. WMS functions. Language Skills English (reading, writing, verbal). Mathematical Skills Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities, count inventory, or perform related duties. Other Strong attention to detail and ability to accomplish job tasks timely. Perform duties with minimal supervision. Adapt to change and thrive in fast‑paced environment. Work within warehouse environment as assigned. Maintain a clean driving record. CDL or prior tractor yard experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications 1-2 years experience in warehouse/logistics/distribution environment. 1-2 years forklift experience. Current or prior MHE certification. Physical Demands Occasionally Handling/Fingering, Sitting. Frequently Bending. Constantly Walking and Standing. Ability to Lift/Carry and Push/Pull 21-50 pounds. Reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel. Work Environment Rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is usually low to moderate.
