RFP writer - retirement / defined contribution plan industry experience required

A Fortune 500 investment firm is seeking an RFP Writer to develop proposal responses that support retirement plan acquisition efforts. This role responds to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs) from retirement plan advisors, consultants, and plan sponsors.

The writer will use approved content from an internal database to create accurate, tailored responses, often combining information from multiple sources into a clear, cohesive answer. Strong knowledge of the retirement / defined contribution plan industry is a key hiring priority.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and tailor responses to RFPs, RFIs, and DDQs covering retirement plan products, services, and capabilities.
• Review questionnaire requirements and synthesize approved content from the internal database into responses that directly address each question.
• Prepare initial drafts for editorial review and incorporate feedback from RFP editors.
• Coordinate revisions requested by sales and other internal business partners.
• Consult retirement subject-matter experts when existing content does not address a question.
• Package completed responses for sales to send to advisors and other prospective clients.
• Manage multiple questionnaires concurrently, tracking revisions and meeting varying deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Project and time-management skills to manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines.
• Experience developing responses to RFPs, RFIs, and DDQs.
• Strong grammar, writing, and editing skills, including the ability to synthesize information into clear, complete responses.
• At least five years of relevant professional experience, with a strong preference for retirement / defined contribution plan industry experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with editors, sales teams, and subject-matter experts.
• Familiarity with Responsive or a similar RFP / content management system. Prior system experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided.
