Physicians, under the Chief Executive Officer's supervision, in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer and clinical/front support team, provide extraordinary patient care through BHA Clinics.General Education RequirementsDoctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Pediatrics from an accredited medical school. Board certified within 2 years of completion of residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Pediatrics.Additional QualificationsClear and active Florida Medical LicenseActive Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License3 years of experience as a practicing physician preferred; experience in a primary health care environment, community health center or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) preferredCurrent BLS/CPR or comparable training completed through licensure or certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red CrossProficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skillsExtensive knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and ailments. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measuresPrimary AccountabilitiesDelivery of Medical CareProvides direct patient care to Brevard Health Alliance patients. Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.Provides oversight of delivery of medical care at the assigned clinic BHA with the support of the Clinical Manager and Executive clinical team. Serves as a mentor and manages the resolution of practice related problems at assigned Clinic.Provides professional oversight for any advanced practice nurses assigned at clinical location of practice.Serves in rotation for after-hours call system.Perform other related duties as assigned.Participation in Quality Medical CareParticipates in Quality Improvement Activities.Participates in utilization and risk management activities.Participates in review of patient satisfaction surveys and in resolving patient complaints.Takes ownership and represents Brevard Health Alliance's mission and organizational goals established by the executive committee. These include, but are not limited to: Productivity, Quality, Patient Satisfaction, and Employee Retention. It is the duty of each BHA employee to incorporate these goals into all daily work routines, and strive to achieve and surpass all goals by working as a team. The mission and goals of BHA will be incorporated into each associate's Key Performance Indicators and will be evaluated on a monthly and quarterly basis.
