Senior Full Stack Engineer

To support federal digital modernization efforts, the full-time Senior Full Stack Engineer will rapidly deploy to complex engineering issues, embedding with system owners to resolve active Code Yellows while working remotely. Key responsibilities Deploy to VA's complex engineering issues, collaborating with system owners to achieve resolution within a 90-day window Build and modify full stack applications and APIs across various technology stacks, including improving CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices Produce written assessments and recommendations for stakeholders, ensuring the owning team can maintain the systems post-engagement Required qualifications Working fluency in at least one modern backend language and demonstrated experience across infrastructure, data, and identity systems Practical cloud experience, preferably with AWS, beyond basic tutorials Ability to quickly become productive in unfamiliar codebases and languages, demonstrating past experiences where this was achieved Strong fundamentals in Git workflows, CI/CD, testing, REST API design, and relational databases Experience communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders through assessments and reports
