Job Details Location: Swarthmore, PA 19081 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: Graduate Degree Shift: Day The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders for an assigned caseload of students with complex multiple disabilities. The SLP creates and delivers personalized treatment plans regarding speech articulation, fluency, language comprehension, and strengthening of oral muscles for safe feeding in line with students’ Individual Education Plans (IEP). Duties and Responsibilities Assess students using standardized and non-standardized assessments to determine the nature and severity of disorders related to speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing. Develop IEP goals and individualized treatment plans based on assessment information, facilitate and implement IEP goals as part of a comprehensive treatment plan and therapy sessions, and monitor student progress. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to write goals and implement therapy plans. Provide direct therapy to students individually and in groups to address communication needs and improve student access to their educational program. Write reports and communicate information to parents/caregivers and the school team. Attend team meetings, planning meetings, and IEP meetings to provide input on students and progress as required. Collect and analyze student data for progress monitoring. Develop a schedule of individual and group therapy sessions based on assessments, goals, and goal progress. Educate families and caregivers on managing disorders and provide strategies to improve communication at home. Maintain accurate records, chart progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize student progress. Select and train students on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems including, but not limited to, speech generating devices or sign language. Consult with teachers, parents, paraprofessionals, community agencies, and others as appropriate. Alert school staff to necessary procedures, special precautions, and safety measures applicable to individual students and the student population. Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders. Valid PA Department of Education certification and valid licensure to practice Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology in a school setting in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred. Experience in providing Speech-Language Pathology in a pediatric or school setting. Two (2) years’ experience working with individuals living with multiple disabilities, including a strong understanding of the safety and communication support required for individuals with physical disabilities. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, materials, and techniques used in Speech-Language therapy. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize tasks. Demonstrated strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision. Demonstrated ability to anticipate changes and/or identify issues and take appropriate and effective actions. Excellent customer interaction, collaboration, and written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and PowerPoint. Experience using electronic management/electronic records systems preferred. Must be able to perform CPR, First Aid, and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols. Must pass and maintain CADES driving and securement and observer certifications. Must possess a current, valid driver's license in the state of residence, have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record, which will be assessed through a review of the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) record. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cades
