Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Madison, WI | Inpatient (Acute Care)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Every third weekend and holiday rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit in an inpatient acute care setting
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, including identification of lethal arrhythmias
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation as required
• Complete and pass a Telemetry competency exam prior to start date

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• BLS certification required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience in an inpatient acute care setting, within the last 3 years
• Must pass a Telemetry exam prior to start (two attempts permitted; passing score of 80% or higher required, with 100% identification of lethal rhythms on the adult exam and no incorrect answers on 3rd degree heart block questions)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a Magnet-designated or academic medical center environment
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills across both adult and pediatric populations
