CNC Lathe Mastercam Programmer

New Baltimore, MI | Full-Time | On-Site
$32–$40/hour, based on experience

Apex Placement & Consulting is partnering with an established precision manufacturing company in New Baltimore, MI, to find an experienced CNC Lathe Mastercam Programmer. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC professional who enjoys programming, setting up, and operating equipment while producing high-quality, precision-machined components.

The ideal candidate will bring strong Mastercam programming experience, hands-on CNC lathe setup and operation skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Program CNC lathes using Mastercam, including live tooling applications

• Set up and operate a variety of CNC lathe machines and equipment

• Machine precision components to customer specifications and blueprints

• Select and set tooling, verify machine settings, and establish proper offsets

• Inspect first-run and finished parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications

• Monitor dimensions and make program or machine adjustments to maintain required tolerances

• Read and interpret CNC programs and make edits at the machine as needed

• Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and gauges

• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues

• Complete required production and quality documentation

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

• Follow all company quality, safety, and operating procedures

• Support continuous improvement and other production needs as assigned

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of CNC lathe programming, setup, and operating experience

• Strong proficiency with Mastercam

• Experience programming and machining with live tooling

• Ability to perform complete machine setups and make program edits

• Strong blueprint and technical drawing interpretation skills

• Ability to read and understand CNC programming/code

• Proficiency using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Ability to troubleshoot problems and make adjustments independently

• Comfortable managing multiple jobs and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Compensation & Benefits
