Automation And Controls EngineerDesign and program automation and controls systems involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Oversee the development of complex systems and equipment. Research, test, and analyze the design used to monitor consistency in production. Review initial electrical schematics and update existing schematics.Essential functions include:Develop, modify, and test code for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other control systemsAnalyze, diagnose, and repair all PLC programs and backups to prevent catastrophic failuresAnalyze, diagnose, and repair all HVAC system malfunctions; assist line technicians and maintenance technicians with troubleshooting and repairCollaborate with engineering, project managers, and end-users to effectively recommend control system requirements and specificationsNetwork data communications to SCADA Vlan to receive process control and automation data on production machineryProgram and maintain SCADA network using Factorytalk HistorianMaintain computer IP network for production equipment and facility data collectionAnalyze, diagnose, and repair electrical problems with facility equipmentMaintain all current electrical systems and provide expert advice to upper management on potential failure pointsAssist with continuous improvement and offer automation supportReport food safety and quality issues to appropriate personnelSupport food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured productsPerform other job-related duties as assignedQualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies):Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a technical or engineering field2+ years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment2+ years of PLC programming experienceThorough understanding of electrical theory and mechanical operationsAbility to ensure processes, construction, installation, PLC/HMI programming, and operational requirements meet specifications, codes, and end-user expectationsAbility to troubleshoot mechanical failure vs. programming failureAbility to read blueprints and electrical schematicsAbility to receive and retain instructional informationFamiliarity with lockout/tagoutStrong general computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office and ability to learn proprietary software quickly and accuratelyStrong communication skills, including the ability to listen, explain, and facilitateStrong attention to detail with a high degree of thoroughness and accuracyAbility to think critically, solve complex problems, and work effectively under demanding deadlinesRISE123MON123
