Barback - Learn & Shine at a Historic SF Cocktail Bar

Local Edition – Barback Beneath Market St., in the depths of the historic Hearst Building lies the subterranean cocktail bar known as Local Edition. Inspired by the newspaper business of the 50s and 60s, you will find a sophisticated décor juxtaposed with vintage paper presses and clippings from the archives of San Francisco’s past. If you like live music and strive to give excellent customer service, the barback position at Local Edition may be right for you. We are looking for persons who have experience in the restaurant, bar, or hotel industries or those looking to and are eager to learn. Typical hours are Tuesdays thru Saturdays, 3:30 pm - 3:30 am. Responsibilities Assist bartenders with daily service Maintain overall bar cleanliness Prepare batches and other cocktail ingredients Wash and organize glassware Retrieve and keep adequate levels of bar stock Clean as part of opening and closing duties Qualifications Strong attention to detail Able to follow directions Basic math skills or an ability to use a calculator and understand proportions Good interpersonal skills Has or is willing to obtain a CA Food Handler’s Certification and RBS training required 21+ years of age or older Benefits Hourly rate SF minimum + tips Company-sponsored medical/dental/vision benefits are offered to all qualifying employees Matching 401(k) is offered to qualifying employees Local Edition is an at-will, equal-opportunity employer.
