In addition, Eurofins is one of the key emerging players in specialty clinical diagnostic testing in Europe and the USA.Group's key figures are approx. 7.296 billion Euros turnover, over 950 laboratories across 59 countries and about 65,000 staff.Job DescriptionThe Laboratory Technician I, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.Full-time entry level position Monday - Friday 12:30pm- 9:00pm Candidates living within a commutable distance of North Kingstown, RI are encouraged to apply. Compensation $18-20/hour (depends on experience) plus eligible for benefitsThis is an entry level position, those looking to gain experience in a laboratory setting without a 4 year degree encouraged to apply.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRetrieving samples from Sample Control for analysis.Performing sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods:Aliquot samplesSpike and trace samplesPrepare reagentsBottle samplesPrepare concentrationsSeparationSonicationPreparing water on soil samples for metals analysis.Performing digestions with concentrated acidsLearning the Eurofins Laboratory Information Management SystemLearning the Mercury AnalysisLiquid rack set upResolving discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.Preparing general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.Washing laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.Stocking laboratory supplies.Cleaning work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.Assisting other laboratory areas as needed.The ideal candidate would possess:Comfortable with a fast paced time sensitive laboratoryAbility to use calculator/mathematical formulas and conceptsAbility to use TALSAbility to complete work within time and quality constraintsCan work independently following written or verbal instructionsCooperate and coordinate both orally and in writing QualificationsBasic Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentHigh school Chemistry coursework preferred.Basic laboratory experience preferredPrevious production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
