Electroencephalogram Technician

Job Title: Electroencephalography - EEG Tech Unit: IP NEUROLOGY Duration: 3 Months (Contract Assignment) strong possibilities of extension Location: New York, NY 10016 Shift: 2 12-hour shifts and an 11-hour shift Summary Of Essential Duties And Responsibilities: Prepares patient for EEG exam, applies electrodes to patient's head, operates and maintains appropriate equipment, identifies tracing, prepares records. Required Skills & Experience: One (1) year of EEG Technologist experience High School Diploma/GED required - EEG Certification required Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required. Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience, where Certificate of Completion from the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) recognized training program. OR Graduate from Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program may be substituted for one (1) year of experience, as described in #1 above.
