About the Office

American Family Dentistry - Kirby Quince is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our established and patient-focused team in Memphis, TN. We are looking for an experienced professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering outstanding patient care. Position Details

Schedule:

• Monday - Thursday: 7:45 AM - 5:00 PM
• Friday: 7:45 AM - 12:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure proper sterilization and infection control protocols are followed.
• Take and develop dental radiographs as permitted by state regulations.
• Educate patients on oral health and post-treatment care instructions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
• Manage instruments, materials, and supplies to support efficient clinical operations.
• Collaborate with doctors and team members to deliver an exceptional patient experience.
• Help create a welcoming, organized, and patient-centered environment.

Requirements

• Previous dental assisting experience required.
• Current Tennessee dental assisting credentials, certifications, or registrations as required by state regulations.
• Radiology certification preferred or required according to state guidelines.
• Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and infection control standards.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Positive attitude, professionalism, and strong work ethic.
• Commitment to teamwork and providing exceptional patient care.

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology Experience working in a patient- or customer-centered environment
• If required under the state dental practice act, dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Experience

• Dentrix or other dental software experience
• Dental assisting school certification
