Production Manager

INTRODUCTION and WHAT YOU WILL DO (Job Responsibilities)POSITION SUMMARY:The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals are met safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role leads a production team of roughly 40 employees with 8 direct reports, manages resources, and drives continuous improvement to achieve quality, cost, and delivery objectives. The Production Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional partners—including Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Engineering—to ensure operational excellence and compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and safety policies.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for first shift safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics within the Production areas of the plant, and the daily report of resultsOperate within approved budget boundaries and achieve operating performance targets, using VBS tools to drive continuous process improvements in quality, on-time delivery, cost savings, and inventory reductionAccountable for meeting needs of a growing business by managing production levels and using DRA to drive delivery and productivityDevelop associates in a manner which meets the future needs of the business, identify key contributors and areas of organizational and individual developmentConduct and deliver annual performance appraisals for hourly associates.
